Thirteenth Daughter. Heritage Witch. Demon Slayer.
They say every town has its secrets, but that doesn’t even begin to describe Whispering Pines. The townsfolk are a superstitious lot and the mystical disappearance of a local teen has everyone murmuring about a centuries old witch’s curse.
When sixteen-year-old Shiloh Ravenwolf takes a summer job at Ravenhurst Manor, she discovers a ghost with an agenda. That’s where she meets the new town hottie, Trent Donovan. But Trent may be the next victim on the supernatural hit list, and Shiloh is the only person with the power to save him. Complicated much?
After receiving cryptic messages from a creepy wraith and frightening threats from a demon, Shiloh finally begins to understand the mysterious significance of the strange mark branded on her wrist. Now Shiloh must decide how much she’s willing to sacrifice to protect the other teenagers in town.
Unfortunately, for Shiloh, not all ghosts want help crossing over. Some want vengeance.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR…Sherry Soule is a writer blessed with a vivid imagination and lives in San Francisco, California. She writes supernatural tales of romance, magick, and demon slaying. Sherry has a morbid fascination with haunted houses. She adores cats. Loves to watch scary movies. And she’s a total bookaholic. Aside from writing, she enjoys reading poetry, online shopping, digging through flea markets, and exploring old cemeteries and Victorian mansions.

Sherry Soule’s debut YA novel, Beautifully Broken has been nominated by TRR reviewers for Best Paranormal Romance – Wizard and Witch/Sorcery (2011) at The Romance Reviews (“TRR”).

FROM THE BOOK REVIEWER, MINDY…Do you believe in ghosts?  If you are Shiloh Ravenwolf, you most certainly do. After all, she has seen them, heard them, been threatened by them, and watched them take one of her best friends.  But most people think she’s crazy.  Luckily she has found a mentor in Evan, architect for the remodel of Ravenhurst the local haunted or cursed house.

This book is scary, funny, sweet, dark, light, romantic, vengeful, filled with good witches and bad witches (who unlike the bad witch in the Wizard of Oz are very good looking), and a teen witch who is caught in the middle of a very old war. Shiloh is in love, but also at war with a demon and bad witch.  The bad witch happens to be her mother, which makes life interesting.

This book is seriously intense, fun, romantic, and a great read.  I highly recommend it for anyone from mature middle school (7th to 8th) grades and up.
