He’s given up on happily-ever-after…

Cinderella’s Prince Charming is divorced and at a dead end. The new owner of a bookstore, Charming has given up on women, royalty, and anything that smacks of a future.
That is, until he meets up with Mellie…

But she may be the key to happily-right-now…

Mellie is sick and tired of stepmothers being misunderstood. Vampires have redeemed their reputation, why shouldn’t stepmothers do the same? Then she runs into the handsomest, most charming man she’s ever met and discovers she’s going about her mission all wrong…

It’s only natural that sparks fly and magic ensues when these two fairy tale refugees put their heads-and vulnerable hearts-together…

FROM AMY, A TBFR REVIEWER...Wickedly Charming is part of the Charming series. I like the concept of this series. You get to see the Happily Ever Afters in a more adult setting. Sometimes you HEA doesn’t go write the first time, so you have to try again. That is what happened to Cinderella’s Prince Charming. Their HEA ended in two kids and a divorce. Now Charming just wants to be normal and run a book store. He meets Mellie and it could be possible that you get a second chance at Happily Ever After.

I wasn’t happy with this author’s writing style. It wasn’t until chapter 4 that the main characters did any real interacting with people. We spent the first chapters in the main finding out what Charming and Mellie where thinking. That is all well and good except that when they thought something it was followed by a long explanation as to why they though it. I don’t mind detail, but there is a point when there is too much detail. I find that it takes away from the story. This caused me to have a hard time trying to really get into reading this book.

What I liked about this book, I loved the concept. To see that Prince Charming actually has flaws. You always think of him as being perfect, but really who is perfect. Not even your dream guy is 100% perfect. So I really did love the basis’s of this book. The love story between Charming and Mellie was a good one. Mellie is one of the fairy tale step mothers, so ending up with charming is not something that you expect. It works though. Charming was a good character at some points. He is more of an average guy.  I liked the romance between Charming and Mellie.

I didn’t have my happily ever after with this book. I was expecting a lot more with this book. It is not one that I will read again.

My Book Rating: ★★☆☆

MEET THE REVIEWER…My name is Amy. I have enjoyed reading since I was a kid. My favorite genres are Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy and Contemporary Romance. I recently began reading a few Historical Romances. I am usually found with a book in hand. When I am not reading I am playing with my nephews and my dog Lanie.

Some of my favorite authors are JR Ward, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Rachel Gibson, Shannon K. Butcher, Erin McCarthy, Lara Adrian, Janet Evanovich and the list could go on.

I don’t watch a lot of TV but when I do I am usually watching True Blood, Vampire Diaries, Ringer or The Soup (I love that show).

I enjoy writing reviews because I like having my opinion out there too.
