In the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and share our love of the written word! This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs to read!

This week’s question comes from Veronica who blogs at: Read Books, Have Fun.

How/Where do you get your books?
Do you buy them or go to the library?
Is there a certain website you use like paperbackswap?

I obviously love books since I am a book blogger and my kids at BookSnatchers are too so we get our books from various channels. The majority of our books were given to us for a review or were gifts (because everyone knows we LOVE books). My girls love animal related stories, I love fiction and self-help books, and my son is a walking encyclopedia so he loves his non-fiction.

The kids and I go to the local library at least once a month but that’s to get them books to read. We usually leave that place with each carrying their own big bag out filled with books and sadly we often come back having to pay fines on all of those books. It’s a good thing it tops out at $10!

When I do buy a book or two or three, I usually buy from from our local used book store Edward McKay. In fact there are times I wonder my husband don’t work there because we go there at least once a week. He’s the movie geek while I’m the book addict. The books I get here are usually my “rare” finds or because I fell in love with the cover and summary (yes, I usually judge a book by it’s cover) while perusing the shelves. All other times when I purchase a book I’m looking for specifically, I purchase them through Barnes & Noble or Amazon.com. Sorry to the author…but I’m always looking for a price deal.

I used to use PaperSwap (which is STILL a great program by the way), but I found myself giving away or trading books locally that were posted there so it defeated the purpose of swapping online.

What about you?

I usually get most of my books from publishers for review, or else I buy them on Amazon using the gift balance I’ve earned through Swagbucks. I also occasionally get books at my local used bookstore/swap or at a library sale.

My books come from publishers or my local indie bookstore.  Our library has a two week limit on loans and the books never seem to come in when I want them too, so I’ve kind of given up on them.
