PhotobucketIn my novel, Entangled, the heroine travels to a parallel world through a wormhole to help the hero save his people from imminent disasters.  In the parallel world, the heroine learns that humans can consciously affect their environment – even something as powerful as the weather.

In reality, the existence of a wormhole – a ‘shortcut’ or ‘bridge’ through spacetime – has yet to be proven.  But humans consciously affect the environment every day.

Sound crazy?  Recently, I’ve seen articles on the web about a ‘technosocial wormhole,’ a concept Amber Case speaks of, where time and space are compressed every time we make a telephone call or update our Facebook page, allowing us to communicate in real time across vast distances.  Now instead of being connected to the person in the room with us, we are connected to the 300+ friends we have on Twitter or the 50+ contacts in our cell phone at any moment.

This is why I read, why I write – to open my mind to possibilities, to the ‘what if’s,’ to think a little bit differently about things I take for granted every day.  I can reflect on the possibility of a wormhole and think – what would I do if I encountered one?  If I could pass through it, what would I find on the other side?  If I wanted to consciously affect my environment in a parallel world, how would I want to do it?

How would you do it?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR…Traci lives near Dallas with her husband, children, and clumsy but lovable 75 lb. boxer named Rowdy.

She enjoys reading and writing fantastical or paranormal stories with a twist, where supernatural elements serve as metaphors for the actual struggles people face every day.

An avid romance reader, she believes happily-ever-afters do happen in real life, if one is willing to work for it.

PhotobucketWhen divorced teacher Cassie Miller dreamt about meeting her soul mate, her happily-ever-after didn’t include threats of abduction to a parallel world to help him save his people from imminent destruction.

Alexos de Werner, exiled prince of a land now under Republican rule, is searching for the woman that can help stop the disasters devastating his home province of Ennis, in his world of Caedmon.  Alex will do anything to save his people, even if they don’t want his help.

Unnerved by the connection she feels with Alex and the new abilities awakening inside her, Cassie refuses Alex’s request for help as ludicrous.  A demonstration of his otherworldly abilities convinces Cassie her only choice is to help him.

Once on Caedmon, Cassie must learn to trust Alex and accept her gift before Ennis is lost.  Can she open her heart and mind and become the student instead of the teacher?

I’d like to say I’d save the trees, get rid of the greenhouse gases, world peace…you know, all that. But I’m afraid I’d probably pick the winning lottery numbers first. :)
