crying_girl-2072It’s Friday night and what am I doing right now? The house is asleep, the heat has been turned on (I try to keep it off the day), and I’m in a tizzy (did I actually say tizzy?! LOL) because I’ve misplaced the book Sins of the Flesh that I’ve been reading the past couple of days. To make matters worse for me, I’m in the climax part of it and I need that relief of finality to find out how it’s all going to play out! FRUSTRATING! You know how that feels…here’s a new book term…”blue book syndrome”…it’s real and it’s uncomfortable…at least in my world…LOL

I’ve looked under beds…
I’ve looked under couches…
I’ve looked under the coffee table…
I’ve looked throughout my entire book collections (3 book shelves)…
I’ve looked in my purse (I always carry my current read around with me, you never know when you have a spare moment to read)
I’ve rolled my passed out husband here and there in case he was laying on top of my precious book…
I even looked in my kids room, bathrooms and kitchen…

Yet no book to be found…UGH…why oh why?! Why now?!

I’m like an addict in search of their drug of choice. Hair’s frazzeled, I might have the shakes, and I probably have blood shot eyes from searching so hard…Oh wait…I am The Book Faery AND it REALLY sounds like I am addicted to my books. Perhaps my books are my drug of choice.

“Hi, I’m Farrah aka The Book Faery from the land of book bloggers and I am addicted to books.” There I said it. It’s out in the open. I’m addicted and fiending (is that even a word?!) for my book fix and that fix is Sins of the Flesh!! I promise, once I finish I’ll put it away, I promise!

Where’s my Book Faery Godmother when I need her the most! I’m crying out for my book! What are the magical words to bring you to my beloved reading spot where I am currently at? Is it a river of tears you need for you to magically “bippity boppity boo” my book magically into my pudgy hands? I swear she brings every other book to my attention, why not this one knowing I so need to finish it?!

Thomas Jefferson once said, “I cannot live without my books”. Oh yes, so true, so true. Yes I know I have many many other books (my husband says too many in fact) but none of them are the one particular one I am looking for…Sins of the Flesh AND by the way, you can NEVER have too many books. At least I’m not the freakish cat lady in the gigantic old house with hundreds of cats roaming around…shoot…where’s wood when I need it? If I’m not careful, I might end up like that in my old age surrounded by books AND cats everywhere!

I even finished my schoolwork early this week AND it’s our first game free weekend so I planned on doing NOTHING but catch up on my guilty pleasure of doing lots of reading. I wanted to stay up late reading, stay in my pjs till I have to get out of them, shut my door, curl up under my precious favorite quilts with some coffee or tea and READ…Shut the world out and live another life within another book. That’s why we read fiction isn’t it? At least that’s why I read…

Mason Cooley says “Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are”. So absolutely true. And now I can’t live the lives or at least be the fly on the wall of the characters in Sins of the Flesh…Boohoo boohoo boohoo…I’m crying a river but she’s still nowhere to be seen!  :-(

So since I don’t want to get into the life of another until I’m done with Sins of the Flesh, I’ll read some quick reads til perhaps my Book Faery Godmother happens to feel pity on me and give me back my book.

Curious as to what I grabbed from my book collection, aren’t you? Well…NON-FICTION…I’m not going to be a part of somebody’s life tonight it appears. Boring for a Friday night if you ask me…Boohoo boohoo boohoo (WHERE ARE YOU BOOK FAERY GODMOTHER?! WHERE ARE YOU?!)

Ok so I grabbed these quick reads (at least I’m THINKING they’ll be quick reads).

  • Cracking the $$ Code: What Successful Men Know and You Don’t (Yet) by Attorney Patricia M. Annino (almost done)
  • The Smartest Way To Save: Why You Can’t Hang on to Money and What to Do About It by Samuel K. Freshman & Heidi E. Clingen (DEFINITELY could get some good advice from that one)
  • What Are You, STUPID? by Henry Shephard (Looks like an interesting read…just hoping I’m not one of the “stupid” ones…lol)

Hopefully after I get these read my Book Faery Godmother might bless me with my precious Sins of the Flesh tomorrow? Hopefully?!
